Nadine Fletcher and Joel Hagen
Recognized as two
of the best and most knowledgeable nature interpreters in the
area, Joel and Nadine have worked in the Rockies since 1991, both
for Parks Canada and now as Great Divide Nature Interpretation.
They
are IGA-accredited Master Interpreters - two
of only six in the Canadian Rockies.

For the IGA, they
design and teach the Interpretation component of the course taken
by people wanting to be certified as "professional"
or "apprentice" interpretive guides.
They have also both
received awards from Interpretation Canada for their interpretive
shows and in 2004, they jointly received the first Outstanding
Heritage Interpreter award at the Banff Heritage Tourism
Awards - the first ever presented!

| Nadine began her career in
the intensely creative atmosphere of the theatre. She moved
from Nova Scotia to the Canadian Rockies in 1989, and since
then, she has put her drama skills and love of nature together
to tell the vivid stories of this landscape.

Joel was raised on the British Columbia coast, became an
amateur naturalist at the age of eight, and eventually studied
biology at Simon Fraser University. Moving to Banff National
Park in 1992, he found his new home to be the ultimate natural
university and thinks it unlikely he will ever graduate.
